Ariana Grande: tomato allergy is to blame for delayed concerts

Last Tuesday, 25-year-old pop music icon Ariana Grande postpones concerts in both Tampa and Orlando, Florida.

An undisclosed illness was reportedly the reason behind the last-minute rescheduling of the shows. The ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker turned to social media platform Instagram to offer an explanation to her dismayed fans.

The post featured a short boomerang clip of her dog Toulouse sitting on a flight of stairs. In the caption the singer wrote:

“update: we discovered ….. that ….. i had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed. still feels like i’m swallowing a cactus but slowly making progress! thank u all for your love and understanding. can’t wait to get back to performing and to make it up to Tampa and Orlando in November.
p.s. there is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID TWENTIES…….”

As it turns out, the undisclosed illness was a severe tomato allergy. Who knew? Grande calls out the irony of developing an allergy as an Italian woman calling saying “there is nothing more unfair”.

Fans have expressed their concern for Grande commenting greetings on the comment section of the said post. One fan who shared the pop singer’s dilemma wrote “Sis, im italian too and im allergic to tomatoes too. We twins. Get well soon🌸”
