Dr Marilyn Owen is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist who cares for children at Tassie Kids Dental, located in both Hobart and Launceston. Currently, she is the only Children’s Dental Specialist in the state.
In 2002, she obtained my Bachelor of Dental Science degree with honours, from The University of Western Australia. Prior to commencing specialty training she had the opportunity to work in general dental practice for close to a decade. Her diverse experiences have included the school dental service, rural government practice and metropolitan private practice in both W.A. and Victoria. Following a period of maternity leave, she undertook, Paediatric Dentist training at The University of Melbourne between 2012 – 2015.
Dental decay and enamel defects (chalky teeth) are of particular interest of Dr Owen; these research areas were the subject of her postgraduate thesis. Her research into enamel defects has involved The D3 Group; She headed the team that successfully obtained the Wrigley Company Foundation ADAF Community Service Grant in 2013 and 2014. She has published articles on this topic in the Australian Dental Association, and she is the Chalky Teeth Campaign Representative for Tasmania.

Dr Jacques Cawood was born in South Africa and completed his dental degree at Stellenbosch, Cape Town. In 2007 he relocated to Tasmania where he has been practicing in both the public and private sector. He has a great love for general dentistry and all the challenges it present but really enjoys the paediatric, endodontic and implant components.

Dr Janine Crotty – Crotty Dental
Dr Janine Crotty is a Tasmanian-born graduated from the University of Adelaide, then returned to establish her dental practice on Macquarie Street in 1982. Dr Crotty has since developed a loyal client base over her 35 years of practicing dentistry in the Hobart community. Her patients enjoy seeing her because of her honest and ethical approach to quality dentistry.
Between practicing dentistry and running a successful business, Dr Crotty enjoys challenging herself physically as well. Cycling is a great passion of hers, and she has embarked on many long bike rides in Australia and overseas too.
Dr Crotty has been an avid sailor for over 40 years. Many of her sailing trips are enjoyed with her family sailing within Tasmania, as well as venturing up the east coast of mainland Australia.
