Christmas is just right around the corner and we all know that the kids are probably the most excited this time of the year. This, and their birthday. They excitedly anticipate Santa’s arrival to give them presents they worked hard for the entire year being more nice than naughty to be in ‘Ole Saint Nick’s good graces.
Well, it’s not just Santa that has been handing out presents as Netflix has been busy dishing out amazing Christmas content not just for us adults but more importantly for the children for them to enjoy the yuletide season and at the same time, learn a thing or two in this season of love and giving. While Hallmark has been laser-focused on continuously producing holiday rom-coms (and let’s be honest, we all like most of their movies like mayo on French fries), the Streaming giant has, for a few years now, amped up their holiday content expanding their Christmas library to be bigger.
There are a lot of Christmas movies that kids can and will enjoy to choose from, but we felt that the movies we chose would warrant a look-see. Here are some of the Christmas movies that your kiddos can watch right now.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
The classic on-screen adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s popular children’s book stars Jim Carrey as the Grinch who decides to wreak havoc during Christmas and completely ruin Whoville’s holiday spirit.
Santa Claws (2014)
Tommy decides to leave out his kittens out when his mother spoils his notion that Santa was not real. Santa suddenly gets an allergy attack, being unable to deliver the rest of the presents to the other kids. The kittens then decide to do the work for him to ensure that the presents are delivered to all the good boys and girls on time for Christmas.
Christmas In The Heartland (2017)
Two teenagers become friends during a serendipitous plane ride to Heartland. Kara and Jessie are forced to spend Christmas with their relatives that they didn’t know in the same town leads to the two hatch a plan to switch up before Christmas. Jessie poses as Kara, getting herself into the presence of Kara’s rich grandparents while Kara begins to develop a good relationship with Jessie’s quirky grandma with the most honest and kind family that she has ever met.
Puppy Star Christmas (2018)
Four adorable puppies need to stop four sneaky dogs from hijacking Santa for their interests. The four fur babies need to come up with a plan to thwart them to make sure Christmas comes.
The Grinch (2018)
The Grinch lives in a cave on Mount Crumpet with his dog Max being the only one with him. He gets annoyed every time Christmas comes in which his neighbors down in Whoville celebrate the joyous holidays. When the Whos realize they need to make Christmas into a bigger celebration, the Grinch comes to his own conclusion that the only way he can get his peace and quiet is to pose as Santa and steal Christmas to finally shut down Whoville.
Spirit Riding Free: The Spirit of Christmas (2019)
The bustling town of Miradero becomes livelier during Christmas Eve. Lucky practices with her friends for the town’s annual Christmas pageant. Her father Jim, on the other hand, had his fiddle broke on him so Lucky decided to order him a new instrument; a violin that she needs to pick up in the city. With time running out, Lucky and the gang tries to get her dad’s gift in time before the pageant starts.
