Robert Downey Jr. launches robotics and AI to combat climate change

Robert Downey Jr. is saving the earth in true Iron Man fashion.

Marvelā€™s Tony Stark may have died for the ultimate sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame but it looks like his legacy lives on. Real-life Iron Man, RDJ has vowed to combat climate change with robotics, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.

Downey made the announcement of launching a coalition against climate change at an Amazon conference last Tuesday. The Footprint Coalition is set to use the latest advancements in technology to fight climate changed. The projects is set to start next month.

ā€œBetween robotics and technology, we could probably clean up the planet significantly, if not entirely, within a decade,ā€ CNN reported the actor saying at the conference.

RDJ didnā€™t go into specifics regarding the technology it will use or prospective partners, investors, and advisers. We can only assume that more information about the project will be announced through the newsletter of FootprintCoalition.com.

Downey reportedly said that the concept came from a discussion of experts.

Last month, The Breakthrough-National Centre for Climate Restoration in Melbourne published a policy paper that contained alarming news. The paper warned that climate change has become an ā€œexistential threatā€ to the human race. The authors of the paper also noted that the effects of this global issue are far worse than any scientist has predicted or than anyone can ever imagine. The paper predicts that by 2050, climate conditions will cause the demise of human civilization.
