The 31-year-old singer and makeup mogul Rihanna has been busy building a beauty empire. While promoting Fenty Beauty in a pop-up store in Paris, the singer introduced herself in a short clip for Vogue.

Although she didn’t directly address how most people have been saying her name wrong, Rihanna might have been making subtle hints in recent videos. It’s not long before one of her fans on Twitter caught up, as one social media user said: “so we’ve been pronouncing Rihanna’s name wrong this whole time.”

Other Twitter users have responded to the Tweet pointing out that most Americans pronounce the singer’s name wrong. Apparently, Americans emphasize the syllables in her name incorrectly pronouncing it “Re-Ah-Na” instead of “Re-Anna”.
Now, the people of Twitter argue that most others have referred to her correctly. One user said, “us brits we BEEN pronouncing her name right since dayyy.”
It’s not to say that Rihanna hasn’t directly clarified how to pronounce her name right before. In a 2012 interview with reporter AJ Hammer, the star confirmed that her name is, in fact, pronounced “Re-Anna.
Doesn’t this bring you back to that surprising time when Ariana Grande made the startling revelations that literally everyone has said her name wrong since day one? It should actually be pronounced as “Grandi” instead of “Grandey”.
