The real hype has begun. Jurassic World 3 director Colin Trevorrow has teased that filming of the third and final installation of the Jurassic World franchise will start soon.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was released two years ago, and the J.A. Bayona flick was technically a win for the franchise even though it was not a critical hit, unlike Trevorrow’s Jurassic World that preceded Fallen Kingdom. The third and final installment of the franchise has been in development for a while now but luckily for us, a handful of developments have come up the past few months. But with the production about to start, a bunch of new details has been made known.
The story for Jurassic World 3 is still unknown given that production is playing it close to the chest, but we can assume that it will pick up around the time of Fallen Kingdom’s post-credit scenes. It showed that the dinosaurs taken from the island are now roaming free in the modern world, with a majestic closing shot of Rexy (the original Jurassic Park Tyrannosaur) having a badass roar-off with a lion.
Jurassic World 3 will have most of the main cast return, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard top-billing the movie for a third straight time. The original Jurassic Park trio of Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Laura Dern will also make their much-awaited return to the franchise together.
Jake Johnson who played Lowery Cruthers and Omar Sy who played Barry in Jurassic World was also reported to be making their return for the third film. Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith who played Zia Rodriguez and Franklin Webb respectively in Fallen Kingdom will also make their return for the third installment.
Chris Pratt announced that production for Jurassic World 3 will begin very soon and Trevorrow followed up by a very cool and adorable tweet, with a photo of an infant Triceratops (or a sub-species) with a one-word caption, ‘Ready’.

Universal started the Jurassic World 3 hype when they released a short film titled Battle at Big Rock, where a family enjoying their camping trip at the Big Rock National Park experience firsthand the imminent conflict between humans and dinosaurs. Through the short film, we are given a taste of what happens when the escaped dinosaurs come in contact with humans and its consequences.
Jurassic World 3 will be released around 2021 and will be the year’s most anticipated films since it’s going to be the swan song of the franchise. JP3 will be the door closing on this leg of the franchise. Hopefully, they do well so we could get another trilogy in the future.
