Actor Jason Momoa admits to being broke back in 2010

It’s hard to imagine that one of Hollywood’s brightest stars couldn’t even afford a plane ticket to go home from shooting the HBO series Game of Thrones.

39-year-old actor Jason Momoa revealed details of the time he was “so broke” in a throwback post on Instagram. The actor wrote, “While filming GOT we had a lil break We were to (sic) broke to fly home so we rented a panel van aka UHAUL in Belfast and drove around beautiful amazing IRELAND searching for the greatest pint of Guinness.” The first season of Game of Thrones was filmed back in 2010.

Featured in the post is a photo of Momoa laying down on the back of a panel van. Despite his penniless pocket, the actor posed with a big smile.

The actor played the warlord Khal Drogo in the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones. His character was killed off the show by the end of season one. The character did appear only once in the second season when Daenerys saw him in a vision.

Momoa has since risen to ultimate fame starring in his own blockbuster film, 2018’s Aquaman. Forbes reported that the movie passed the $1 billion mark. This makes it only the 3rd DC comics film adaptation to achieve the box office milestone even topping 2008’s The Dark Knight.

A sequel to Aquaman is reportedly already on the works. Momoa signed a four-picture deal with the DC cinematic universe according to Doddle News. At that rate, the actor won’t be going back to his broke days any time soon.
