Fans will get to delve into the history and psyche of Johansson’s titular character also known as Natasha Romanoff. Now, the head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has teased more details about the Russian assassin’s solo film. According to Feige, the film will give audiences a look at the rationale behind the character’s decision making. Particularly in Avengers Infinity War and Endgame from The Russo Brothers.
Black Widow’s timeline is set in between Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War. But her history is explained in events that go further back into Romanoff’s past. The trailer showed the spy signing up to be a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. with Thaddeus Ross.
We also get a peek of what the Romanoff family was like through plenty of flashbacks. Speaking to IGN here’s what Feige has to say about the agent’s backstory:
“But we had this thought of exploring a little bit of her past that we hadn’t seen before and how that impacts the adventure she had between Civil War and Infinity War. And in fact, there are things that she does in Infinity War and Endgame that you’ll see in a new light once you see the Black Widow.”
