Game of Thrones showrunners drop out of San Diego Comic-Con

Game of Thrones (GOT) showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are dodging GOT fans as they withdrew from their San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) appearance.

The writers who are referred to as “D&D” were set to make their first public appearance at SDCC since GOT’s season finale last May. That was before the pair decided to withdraw from the panel due to scheduling conflicts.

Along with the showrunners, a couple of beloved actors and director Miguel Sapochnik will no longer be attending the event. Actors Iain Glen who played Ser Jorah Mormont and Nathalie Emmanuel, known as Missandei of Naath have canceled their scheduled appearances.

However, winter is still coming to the San Diego International Comic-Con as HBO released the updated lineup of actors who will be attending the panel. In a Tweet last Wednesday, HBO wrote:

“The #GoTSDCC panel taking place Friday, 7/19 at 5:30PM in Hall H will now consist of panelists @Maisie_Williams, @RaleighRitchie, @nikolajcw, @isaac_h_wright, @johnbradleywest, @liamcunningham1 & Conleth Hill.”

So rally the realm to SDCC’s Hall H! Fans will still get to see Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Isaac Hempstead Wright (King Bran Stark), John Bradley (Samwell Tarley), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth) and Conleth Hill (Varys).

HBO also has other confirmed panels for SDCC attendees to look forward to. The cast of Westworld and His Dark Materials are appearing for each of the show’s panels. While Watchmen will have an in-world exhibit that fans can partake in.
