According to Heat Magazine’s Heat’s list 2019, Ed Sheeran is the richest British celebrity aged 30 or younger with a whopping £170 million.

The singer-songwriter-music producer apparently has doubled his earnings within the past year alone to commandeer the number one position from Adele based on Heat’s rankings.

Sheeran’s runner ups include former Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe (30 years old) who came in second with an estimated £90 million. One Direction front man Harry Styles (25 years old) who was ranked third with an estimated £64 million.

Other note-worthy celebrities include actress Emma Watson (29 years old, £57 million), girl group Little Mix (£50 million), and actress-model Cara Delevigne (27 years old, £39.5 million).

Heat Magazine’s annual list determines the celebrities that will be included through their sales endorsements, deals, and accounts before finalizing their compilation.

Sheeran managed to double his money within the past year due to his Divide tour which lasted for two years according to Heat. The magazine also alluded to the singer-songwriter’s efficiency in composing catchy songs that has led to Sheeran selling 150 million records across the globe.

Sheeran’s Divide tour launched March of 2017 and concluded just this August which has broken records for being the highest grossing concert tour of all time with the most tickets sold as well.

Newsbeat reporter Steve Holden said that it wasn’t a surprise that Ed Sheeran managed to double his wealth within twelve months because the Divide tour alone grossed over half a billion. The reporter also added that this was due to Sheeran’s prudence approach in doing business, performing in big venues to a lot of people with a total estimate of 8.5 million attendees. Another big factor are ticket sales, but he also gets paid a good amount for writing for other artists.

His collaborations with Justin Bieber and Khalid both topped the UK charts and his album titled No.6 Collaborations Project sold over 125,000 records in the first week in the UK alone.

Sheeran has written for the likes of Anne Marie, Jess Glynne and girl group Little Mix, giving him a regular source of royalty checks that bolsters his bank account even more.
