Home State Hobart is owned by Emily and James who are both new to Hobart, coming all the way to the big smoke from the North West Coast of Tasmania, where they both grew up! They moved to Melbourne for university but quickly realized that Tasmania is home.

The name ‘Home State’ is about how lucky they feel to be back living in Tasmania, and also references how important the ‘state’ of being at ‘home’ is to them: feeling comfortable and at ease, and surrounded by the things and people they love! They hope to bring some of those homely luxuries and comforts to the people of Hobart at their store.

Home State Hobart showcases a handpicked range of gift & homewares, fashion & design, books & ceramics, skincare & candles, baby and kids toys & clothing. Ultimately, they want to share with Tasmania their favourite local, Australian and international designers – items they would love to give to friends and family, or perhaps treasure for themselves.

Popcorn Street

Popcorn Street is owned by Jeremy Edwards and Jason Niaura. Popcorn Street has actually been years in the making. They originally started over 8 years ago as Tusk, and from there Popcorn Street grew. It was pretty much a natural transition. Imagine putting a bag of popcorn in the microwave, once it starts you can’t stop it… it just grows and pops. Buttery Goodness!
