Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams are two members of the Game of Thrones cast that have survived seven seasons. Fans will have to wait until April 14th when season eight begins to find out their fates.
Although the co-stars play sisters in the series, they have formed a strong lifelong friendship outside of the hit HBO show. While Turner (23) is actually engaged to Joe Jonas, the actress has recently opened up saying that “People always think Maisie and I are a couple,”
It’s no surprise that the pair have found friendship, since they both joined the Game of Thrones cast in season 1, which was released in 2011. The 23 and 21 year old’s were just teenagers when the series began and have grown into adults together. Arguably the cutest “couple” on the set, Turner states that “I mean, I am obsessed with her, so you never know…I’ve got an addiction to Maisie Williams. I actually stalk her hashtag on Instagram!
The pair has clearly enjoyed working together over the years. Turner admits that they did play pranks on the rest of the cast during filming. “Even though we are sisters [in Game of Thrones], we tried to sneak a kiss into every scene we did together to freak everyone out a bit.” The actress went on to say that “It kept them on their toes’ making sure they were following the script”.
All joking aside, the pair have supported each other over the years, with Turner explaining that Williams is her “strong home,” Sophie went on to say that “Maisie is definitely my protector and I’m hers, too… she’d go crazy and protect me.”
Williams (21) adds that “Sophie knows too much about me to not be my friend,” admitting that “She really helped me through some messy break-ups and some friend break-ups.”. Maisie went on to say that “Whenever I’m like, ‘I need help! This is bigger than anything I can sort out on my own, Sophie is my point of call,”
