Katy Perry is in no hurry to marry fiancé Orlando Bloom

When it comes to her marriage, Katy Perry is on her on time and pacing.

Perry revealed whether or not she’ll get married this year to fiancé Orlando Bloom. In an interview with KIIS 1065’s The Kyle & Jackie O Show, the Never Really Over songstress’ says they’re trying to lay a foundation ahead of tying the knot.

“I think we’re doing really great, and we’re really doing the hard work and laying a beautiful foundation before we start to build a monster house, metaphorically,” the pop star said.

“I’m saying it, like, emotionally,” Perry continued. “It’s important for us to really do the work before we go and take this really big next step because we were both married before, and it’s not the same in your 30s, as you know.”

The couples’ prior high-profile marriages with their respective ex-spouses are well remembered. Bloom was previously married to Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr. On the other hand, Perry was married to comedian and actor Russel Brand who left showbiz following their well-publicized split.

As for her reconciliation with former rival Taylor Swift, the singer said:
“I just thought, you know, she was about to embark on something new and big and needed the support. I realized how much we have in common. And maybe there’s only five other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and understand where we’re coming from, and that we should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other.”
