Exceptional models who have made 2019 their own

While being a model is stereotypically seen as one of the most glamourous professions, that doesn’t mean models don’t work hard for their success. In a world where beauty standards are changing and/or being challenged, conventionally attractive models need to hustle even harder to be noticed than they ever did before.

With the rise of Instagram, the modelling world has been shaken up with an influx of new talent and a lot of wannabes. This article is looking at working, professional models and not just beauty influencers who shutout brand names for a living.

The following will take a look at 5 stunning models who we think shone the brightest during the last year and really made 2019 their own.

Blondey McCoy

This British male model has two passions in life; modelling and skateboarding. Blondey primarily rose to frame via his unique artwork and sense of personal style, and broke into professional modelling when Burberry picked him to lead their trench coat launch. Beyond modelling and art, he uses skateboarding videos to further connect with his fans. He’s now expanding into a more robust modelling career in 2019 and is definitely someone you should keep an eye on.

Raven Lyn

Raven Lyn is all about the “I just worked out” look and pulls it off effortlessly, being a little raunchier on her Instagram than you might expect. She was the Sports Illustrated Rookie for 2018, setting her up as someone to keep an eye on for fans of sportswear modelling, but this doesn’t mean you won’t see her ‘sporting’ something a little more upmarket in the future.

Sarah Stevens

The Australian bombshell Sarah Stevens is best known for being the winner of Girlfriend Magazine’s 2006 model search and having walked the runway as a Victoria Secret model at only 18 years of age. Now 29 and living in the UK, Sarah hasn’t stayed idle since her rise to fame and has even appeared in 2 features films since (Solitary Man in 2009 and The Witch in 2015). Last year she did her first nude photoshoot for playboy and looked like she had a lot of fun doing it, and this year she’s done even more exciting stuff!

Ria Serebryakova

Hailing from Russia, Ria Serebryakova started her career walking the 2014 fall runway for Miu Miu and her stunning, naturally youthful features where immediately noticed. This year, she has done some incredible work with Dolce & Gabbana for fashion week and has recently travelled to New York City to undertake an as yet undisclosed project. As of writing, Ria Serebryakova has over 280,000 followers on her Instagram profile, having made a deliberate effort to connect more with her audience on that platform and enjoying doing daily updates for her fans. Ria was clearly very awestruck by her experience at fashion week this year, saying that she has a “fantastic team” and that “the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation”.

Needless to say, we are all excited to see more from Ria in 2020!

Giselle Norman

While she has less than 20k followers on Instagram at the time of writing, British-born Giselle Norman is definitely a rising start in the fashion world and has already been flagged as the Britain’s next top supermodel. She is probably best known for her two beauty marks on each cheek which appear to be in symmetry, giving her a unique face that simply isn’t possible without editing. She really stunned in 2018 with her work for Louis Vuitton and has worked with many high-profile brands in 2019 like Dior and Saint Laurent.

Those are our top 5 picks for the most exceptional models that have really advanced their careers and resonated with people in 2019. Be sure to keep an eye on everyone on this list and, at the very least, follow their Instagram accounts!
