Taylor Swift’s collaboration with Brandon Urie, Me!, left Swifties clamoring for more. And now, the singer and songwriter are giving fans exactly what they want.
After several months of teasing her 7th studio album with mysterious clues, the singer finally revealed the details. Taylor took to Instagram Live to make her highly-anticipated announcement last Thursday. In the live stream, she revealed that her upcoming album is entitled, Lover.
The pop star also revealed that it will be released on August 23. Avid fans can place their orders prior to this date because it’s available for pre-order and pre-save right now.
“So, I have some stuff I wanted to talk to you about,” Taylor started her live video. “There’s a lot that I’ve been so excited about for so long and I just wanted to wait for the right time to tell you things. I’ve been so, so, so honored by your dedication to discovering Easter eggs. The fact that you care about that still astonishes me.”
The album will have a whopping of 18 tracks. The singer noted, “That’s more than I’ve had on an album before.”
The singer revealed that there’s actually a reason behind the release date. In case fans forget, “An easy way to remember that date is that August is the eighth month of the year,” she said. “ and then 2+3… [adds up to 13].”
Not only that, Taylor confirmed that her next single will drop on Friday. The track is titled “You Need to Calm Down.” Here’s a teaser photo the singer shared on her Instagram:
