TMZ shared a video of Kid Rock at his Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse in Nashville, Tennessee where it was heavily implied that he was very drunk and has gone on a rant about Oprah Winfrey.
This tirade is nothing short of bizarre since Oprah is probably one of, if not the least controversial high-profile personality on this planet. This was not the first time Kid Rock went off on Oprah though, as he has said in past interviews that he just did not like Oprah, period and does not need a reason as well. He also went out of his way to say that him disliking Oprah had no racial undertones and clearly stated that he was not racist, he just did not like her and is not a bad guy when the people in attendance accused him of being racist.
This odd and ill-conceived beef with Oprah with him leading the crowd into chanting f**** Oprah, before needing assistance to be taken off stage by staff due to his obvious inebriation probably stemmed from an interview Kid Rock had with Country Music Television back in 2008 where he said that celebrity endorsements hurt politicians especially when a Hollywood star vouches for a political candidate like Oprah because it skews the public’s perception on what they believe in.
The country rock star added that there is a big problem with the internet where everyone feels like their voices need to be heard all the time and stated that through this way of thinking, freedom can get out of hand because of the internet’s long-standing toxic and entitled culture.
He also ranted about Joy Behar and Kathie Lee Gifford during his drunken meltdown but has since explained his demeanor during the controversy on his Facebook page.
Another reason for his outburst towards Oprah was put into light in his message to his fans stating that his beef with the talk show mogul might have started when his people tried to get him to appear in Oprah’s talk show a long time ago and Oprah’s team apparently wanted the rock star to jot down five reasons why he loved Oprah and her show with Kid Rock reacting negatively.
He also insisted that he’s a guy with a big mouth who says whatever it is on his mind and gets drunk sometimes. Kid Rock also alluded that his own philanthropic endeavors are regularly overshadowed by his more infamous moments by the media because of him being a staunch supporter of Donald Trump.
