Did Martha Stewart shade Gwyneth Paltrow over her “vagina” candle?

Martha Stewart gave some sort of a backhanded comment when she was asked about her thoughts on Goop’s “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle.

The queen of crafts and home living appeared as a guest on the latest episode of Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live. Stewart was asked by a curious caller to share her sentiments on Gwyneth Paltrow’s sold-out $75 dollar scented candle from her Goop lifestyle brand.

“I’m sure it’s sold out,” Stewart began. “I mean, she does that kind of irritating… she’s trying to zhuzh up the public to listen to her.”

Uhmm…Irritating? That sounds like shade to us! But then, the television personality seemed to backtrack her comment by quickly saying, “And that’s great. Let her do her thing.” but made sure to clarify that “I mean, I wouldn’t buy that candle.”

The rift between Paltrow and Stewart started long before the movie actress’ vagina scented candle came to be. Last year, Stewart has shared some kind words for the actress. Last year she said expressed her hopes for entrepreneurs who “who have a good idea” to succeed when asked about how Goop compares to her lifestyle brand. She added, “So, good luck, Gwyneth.”

But back in 2014, Stewart wasn’t as welcoming with the thought of Paltrow entering the lifestyle industry. “She just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart,” she told Porter Magazine.

Paltrow reacted to the remarks telling Us Weekly, “If I’m really honest, I’m so psyched that she sees us as competition. I’m so psyched. I really am. At this point in my life, I don’t take it personally.”
