āWhile my youngest daughter started reading at age three, she never really enjoyed it. She preferred audio books and buddy reading. While she excelled at superficial reading age tests and eye examines, we never really understood why she was a reluctant reader. Her teacher at Moerlina encouraged us to keep looking for a solution but we were hesitant to spend more money on optometrists who insisted that there was no problem with her vision.
That was until we met JP Guillon at Eye 5 Optometristsā¦After a detailed eye examination, JP recommended glasses to realign her eyes and reduce eye strain. JP predicted that with her new glasses, Inde would be reading spontaneously and joyously by the end of summer (a period of less than three months). While we were optimistic, we were genuinely surprised by her progress. Previously she would read 2-3 pages a night before fatiguing. Reading every night was a chore, certainly not a pleasure. By the end of summer, she had devoured the Carol Wilkinson Dragon Keeper trilogy! This term, she has enthusiastically looked forward to a weekly visit to the library to stock up on books. Her confidence at school has improved significantly. She no longer judges a book by its size and word length. Her favourite author is Michael Morporgo and her favourite genre is historical fiction. Reading is now one of her favourite leisure activities! We have been delighted with JPās expertise and advice.ā ā Josephine Muir
