Core Electronics
Core Electronics was a derivative of those efforts and the need for hard to find bits and pieces. In their early days they had two or three orders a week and operated out of their garage during after-hours. In 2014 they outgrew the 6x6M garage and leased a 160sqm warehouse in Newcastle. On 2016, Graham, the founder of Core Electronics, left his Avionics position in the Royal Australian Air Force to join the Core Electronics team. In November 2016 they moved into a necessary 700sqm building in Newcastle.
Throughout this time they have partnered with industry-leading brands from around the world to make innovative electronics more attainable in Australia. The whole team at Core Electronics is passionate about community education; they create their own tutorials, educational videos, projects and have community workshops at their offices to up-skill makers and educators.

JB Hi-Fi was founded in 1974 by Mr. John Barbuto, trading from a solo store in East Keilor, Victoria. He had one simple philosophy: to deliver a specialist range of Hi-Fi and recorded music at Australia’s lowest prices. The business was sold in 1983 and by 1999 another nine stores were launched. In July 2000 JB Hi-Fi was purchased by senior management and private equity bankers with the aim of taking the successful model nationally. In October 2003, JB Hi-Fi was lifted on the Australian Stock Exchange. Now, maintaining Barbuto’s original philosophy, JB is one of Australasia’s fastest growing and biggest retailer of home entertainment.
In July 2004, JB bought the Queensland Clive Anthony store chain which sell consumer electronics, cooking appliances, white goods,and air-conditioning. These locations have now been converted into JB Hi-Fi Home stores, where customers can discover everything they love about JB plus more.
