Ansel Elgort has read the script for the Baby Driver sequel

Baby Driver star Ansel Elgort recently revealed that he has seen the script for the film’s sequel.

Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver (2017) received critical acclaim for its action scenes (synced through editing with its outstanding soundtrack) and impeccable performances by the cast. The film marked Wright’s most successful film commercially with a whopping USD226.9 million earnings at the global box office. Its production budget was at just USD34 million.

Cinephiles know Wright, who is also known for his film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as a director who doesn’t usually do sequels for his films. However, there’s been a constant buzz about Baby Driver getting a sequel.

While the filmmaker is busy working on psychological horror flick Last Night in Soho, he’s reportedly also hard at work developing Baby Driver 2. Earlier this year, Wright confirmed that he’s completed a draft for the highly-anticipated sequel. And now Elgort revealed in a sit-down interview with MTV News that he might be reuniting with Wright soon. See the full interview below:

Although the actor didn’t give away much detail about the project, fans take his nod as a sign that we’ll see him again behind the wheel on the screen once again. It’s not hard to believe that Elgort and Wight have had initial conversations about the possible sequel and all we have to do is wait until it materializes. The first film starred Jamie Fox, Lily James, Jon Hamm, and Eiza Gonzales. It also starred Kevin Spacey who faced sexual allegations that arose amid the #MeToo movement.
