Later this year, it was confirmed that Batman is returning to the silver screen under the direction of Matt Reeves. Since its announcement, people are left wondering who’s next to take on the role of the caped crusader.
In case you already forgot, (I’m sure we all intended to) Ben Affleck is officially retired from the role. Since then, rumors have surfaced that a certain vampire romance movie actor was cast as the dark knight. Despite initial reports, Warner Brothers have yet to announce the identity of the lead actor and now we might just know why.
Apparently auditions are still ongoing and two actors have reportedly started screen testing to be the world’s greatest detective. The Wrap reporter Umberto Gonzalez released a rumored update regarding the film’s recent developments. Here’s what the reporter had to say:
“BATMAN UPDATE: Robert Pattinson & Nicholas Hoult are screen testing for the role. I suspect they’re screen testing in the Batsuit because Wardrobe Department will need full wardrobe test. Additionally, the film will now start production in Q1 2020.”
Robert Pattinson has been making rounds on the internet since multiple media outlets reported his Batman casting. If the rumor is true, then it looks like the Twilight and Harry Potter star has competition.
Nicholas Hoult isn’t new to playing a character in superhero flicks as the actor appeared in multiple X-Men films as Beast. Is he going to give Pattinson a tough time? Who will be next to wear the iconic batsuit? Looks like all we can do is wait to find out.
