Tidal, Jay-Z’s answer to Spotify, announced last Tuesday that it will launch a series of interactive credit pages. Good news for the music creators that need more recognition than they currently have.

The new feature is an expansion of the music platform’s credit feature. Tidal said in an announcement that users can get more details from the credits of most releases. This will be present in music from singers, lyricists, producers and sound mixers from unheralded backgrounds.

Tidals intends the feature to shed light and give exposure to the lesser known people behind the scenes of music that the masses enjoy. According to the announcement, this is “just the first step in creating an ecosystem where all contributors to the music making process are highlighted. Tidal is looking forward to working with artists and labels to create an in-depth database of credits.”

Tidal’s culture and content executive Tony Gervino said:

“This is a milestone for Tidal which, at the heart of the platform, is a space for music lovers to connect with their favorite artists in unique ways. As a music streaming service and culture hub, it is important to acknowledge that music is a team sport – it takes a talented crew of sound engineers, lyricists, and band members to make a song stick. We recognize the challenges ahead in creating a thorough and extensive catalogue, but we are excited to take this important step.”

The expanded credits are now available for all Tidal members on a variety of devices. This includes the desktop, web and mobile app.
