Taylor Swift is not only known for her incredibly singing ability, but also for her long list of famous boyfriends.

The singer has had multiple high profile relationships with celebrities such as John Mayer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harry Styles and Calvin Harris.

Swift (29) has most recently been romantically connected to British actor Joe Alwyn. Unlike with many of her past relationships, the star has been relatively private about this relationship.

It’s no real surprise that the singer has opted to keep details of her relationship on the down low as she has been involved in multiple messy and public breakups in the past.

However, the 29 year old has recently opened up about her past relationships and views on friendships.

The A- lister discussed how she has found it difficult to separate herself from the opinions of her fans and the public. The star made it clear that she has made the wrong decision in the past as a result of “The general internet consensus of who would be right for me or what they thought was ‘couple goals’”.

Swift went on to say that the perception her fans had on her relationships “based on a picture I posted on Instagram… wasn’t real”.

The Reputation singer stated that “it was an important lesson for me to learn to have my own value system of what I actually want”.

Like most people, the singer has had her ups and downs and has also made her fair share of mistakes. The star has said that “I’ve come to a realisation that I need to be able to forgive myself for making the wrong choice or trusting the wrong person”.

Swift has come a long way since her country singing days and has discussed the impact changing with the success has had on her friendships.

The singer has said that “It’s sad but sometimes when you grow, you outgrow relationships”. Swift went on to say that “you may leave behind friendships along the way, but you’ll always keep the memories”.

Although the singer is now one of the most well-known pop artists of the generation, she makes it clear that she will always be thankful for her friends “I’ll never forget the ones who stuck around”.
