NBA superstar Stephen Curry and his TV personality wife Ayesha are making proactive efforts to improve the lives of children in their community. Something that is inspired by their own set-up as a family at home.
The athlete and his wife held a charity golf tournament through his Eat. Lear. Play. Foundation in partnership with Workday and PGA Reach. Proceeds from the event will provide local children with healthy meals and safe spaces in the San Francisco Bay Area.
During the tournament, Curry spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the goal of their philanthropic efforts. “A lot of it is just trying to set kids up for success,” the NBA star says about the organization’s charity works.
“What Ayesha and I really understood is that it takes a village. It’s one of her favorite sayings, in terms of raising a child — it takes a village to do that. We were blessed growing up with family and other resources that we had, but that village, that family, could be of any configuration or makeup, and we want to be able to be, hopefully, that village for kids that need it.”
The basketball star explains that their organization is named after the “three key components” that children need to live a healthy life. The organization focuses in providing nutrition and education to children in need.
Curry says the inspiration behind the organization comes from their own children. He and his wife are parents to two little girls and a baby boy: Riley, Ryan, and son, Canon.
