Singer-Songwriter Rene Bonét discusses studying overseas: Sydney, Australia

Traveling for an artist is no surprise and has been something that we all can agree that entertainers are accustomed to. Artist are known for their lavish lifestyles making them the go to creators in the realm of influencers. I’ve spent a lot of time studying artist and their creative process and what makes them tick, or how they get to stardom.

When I was introduced to an independent singer-songwriter Rene Bonét, there was something particularly different about this artist, she seemed to be floating on a different vibration, so I had to get the exclusive. Rene Bonét was born in a small town right outside of Washington, DC. Bonét talked about growing up in a small town with people that “live for routine”.

When I asked what she meant by that she explained “People live for the everyday 9-5 schedule, but it gives me anxiety”. Bonét shared her concerns with her future and where it would take her. She let me know she began singing and writing music at an early age and how that opened many doors for her, including gaining an internship with Grammy award winning Alvin Speights.

Later, Bonét began to understand that music wasn’t the last step in the creative process, however it is one of the most important steps. She realized that marketing was such an important factor in becoming an artist, so she started studying digital marking at Georgia State University and that later awarded her the opportunity to travel abroad to Sydney, Australia where she stayed on a student visa. “There was so much life and culture, … I never wanted to leave” states Bonét. When discussing the difference in culture and just the everyday lifestyle of the Aussies. She shares “It definitely changed me, I never thought that it would have such an impact on me as a creative, but it did”.

Not only is Rene Bonet an amazing singer-songwriter and performer she is a businesswoman as well. Starting her own marketing company Northern Vibe Entertainment in 2019. Not a lot of artist have the knowledge or skill set to market their own project, so today we are shining our light on this young talent. For more on Rene Bonét check out her latest content below.
