Selena Gomez on writing “Lose You To Love Me”

Selena Gomez is unraveling the pain she went through that prompted her to write “Lose You To Love Me.” She dropped the emotional track on Wednesday.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Gomez revealed how she expressed her vulnerability through her new music. The singer’s passionate ballad gives fans a look into Gomez’s most heartbreaking moments. But now she says she’s come far from where she was when she wrote the song.

“I feel a sense of relief. I wrote this song over a year ago … and I feel completely different from when I wrote it,” she shared on the radio show. The singer made a guest appearance to promote her new music. “It’s more beautiful for me because I know exactly where I was when I wrote it and how I felt.”

Gomez then revealed that she definitely could not have released the song at the time she wrote it. The pop star then confessed that she had to heal for a “long time” before completely finding herself again.

The 27-year-old is seemingly referring to the events in her life from 2018 when she and long-time on-and-off beau Justin Bieber called it quits in March. Their decision was made after they dated for a couple of months. To add salt to the wound, Bieber immediately moved on from their relationship after being seen with his now-wife Hailey Baldwin. The singer proposed to the model just a couple of months after breaking up with Gomez.
