The 69-year-old actor has filed for divorce from his wife of almost four decades.

The Blast reports that according to legal documents they have gathered, the actor has motioned for the divorce from Opal Stone Perlman after rumors that have been circulating about the actor suggested that he allegedly was living an open marriage with his wife.

Celebrity lawyer Gary Fishbein was the one who filed the notion for Perlman, citing irreconcilable differences between the two. According to TMZ, the actor cited May 10, 2019, as the date that he and soon-to-be ex-wife Opal separated.

Opal Perlman, a jewelry designer married the actor February of 1981 and have two children, Blake and Brandon Perlman born 1984 and 1990. Blake is an actress and singer, having had roles in shows like ArcherHand of God, and StartUp while Brandon goes by the name Delroy Edwards and produces electronic music.

The news broke out six months after Perlman and StartUp co-star Allison Dunbar was photographed kissing each other outside the Alexander Steakhouse in California last May. During the time the photos were taken it was unclear whether it was on set for their TV show or if it was real, given that the two actors starred opposite each other in StartUp.

Prior to this, the actress has posted photos on Instagram where she and Perlman were together. Reports said that when Dunbar posted a bikini pic of herself with a caption, ‘Hello from my ass’ last May, the Sons of Anarchy star dropped a frisky ‘Hi back!’ in response.

Touch Magazine reported that Perlman and his wife might have had an “open marriage”. The magazine explained that a lot of people thought Perlman and his wife lived separate lives and when it came to Dunbar, sources said that she wasn’t his ‘usual type’. They added that the actor would flirt with extras like he wasn’t married and Opal never came up in any conversation.

Perlman is widely known for being in a lot of popular movies, having his start as a classically trained stage actor before diving into movies and television. His earlier work consisted of being part of The Island of Dr. MoreauAlien Resurrection, and Star Trek: Nemesis but had his breakout when he starred as the titular character in Hellboy back in 2004 and its subsequent films.

The actor has also done voice work for animated movies, television shows, and video games. His more notable television roles are Clay Morrow in Sons of Anarchy, Judge Pernell Harris in Hand of God, and Wes Chandler in StartUp.
