Reese Witherspoon on meeting Jennifer Aniston for the first time

Reese Witherspoon is sharing what it was like to meet Jennifer Aniston for the first time on the set of Friends. The two actresses have been friends for around 20-years and now they’re both starring in the upcoming Apple TV+ series, The Morning Show.

Witherspoon appears on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar for its November edition where the actress recalled guest-starring on Friends. In the show, she plays the role of Rachel Green’s (Aniston) sister. During that time, Witherspoon was a new mom at 23 and she brought her now 20-year-old daughter Ava along with her on set. Something, she said, that fascinated Aniston.

“We met on the set of Friends; I played her sister,” Witherspoon recalled to Harper’s Bazaar. “I was 23 years old and had just had a baby. I was nursing Ava on set, and Jen just kept going, ‘You have a baby?’ I was like, ‘I know, it’s weird.’ And I remember her being like, ‘Where are you going?’ And I was like, ‘I’m pumping!'”

Witherspoon then described the actress as a sweetheart. “I was really nervous, and she was like, ‘Oh, my gosh — don’t worry about it!’” She also had glowing words to say for the 50-year-old actress:

“I marveled at her ability to perform in front of a live audience like that with no nerves.”

In the interview, Witherspoon also opened up about being a mom to her kids Ava and Deacon.

“As a mom, I’m kind of goofy,” she says. “I like to dance around and tell jokes. But I’m pretty strict about bedtimes and making sure everybody brushes their teeth twice a day and that kind of stuff.”
