Rapper A$AP Rocky arrested in Sweden for alleged aggravated assault

Swedish law enforcement authorities arrested A$AP Rocky last Tuesday after performing at the Smash hip-hop festival in Stockholm.

CBS reports that Rocky and three other individuals were involved in the incident that took place on Sunday. Swedish spokesperson said that the rapper was arrested over allegations of “gross assault.”

Swedish law dictates that Rocky along with the other individuals can be apprehended for three days before appearing before a judge to face charges.

News of Rocky’s arrest was first reported by celebrity news outlet TMZ on Monday. Following the news, the rapper posted videos leading up to the alleged brawl on his Instagram account. He captioned the first clip he posted:

“SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS , WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE , THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS , AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED , GIVE ME A BREAK”

Rocky then posted another video saying “HITS SECURITY IN FACE WITH HEADPHONES THEN FOLLOW US”

The initial video shows the rapper and company walking away from two men. His bodyguards tell the two men to walk in the opposite direction. The second video appears to show Rocky’s security further arguing with one of the two men. The argument turns into a physical altercation as the man is seen slamming his headphones on the security personnel’s face.

The clip of the altercation cuts to Rocky talking to the two men audibly saying “I understand” and tells them to “chill”. He further explains to the camera that the two men keep stalking them even after being told to go the other way.

Further investigation is reportedly currently underway.
