Nicole Murphy apologizes to director Antoine Fuqua’s wife amid alleged cheating scandal

Nicole Murphy apologized to director Antoine Fuqua’s wife and family as they both go under fire for an alleged cheating scandal.

Earlier this week, Murphy was photographed kissing Fuqua who is married to actress Lela Rochon since 1999. Now, the 51-year-old model is speaking out against the allegations saying she does not “condone” it.

After the two was spotted cozying up at a pool in Italy over the weekend, Murphy released a statement to TMZ.

“Without going into the entire situation, I want to apologize to my family and to Lela and the Fuqua family for what transpired,” Murphy told the celebrity news outlet. “It was not my intention to be in this situation.”

Murphy also clarified that she does not agree with women behaving “inappropriately” towards married men.

“I do not condone women kissing or interacting in any way inappropriately with a married man,” she continued. “I too was once married, and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written.”

Murphy was married to comedian and actor Eddie Murphy from 1993 to 2006.

Prior to releasing the public apology via TMZ, Murphy released an earlier statement to LoveBScott.com. The model said she and Fuqua “are just family friends.”

“I ran into him in Italy and we exchanged a friendly hello and that was it,” she told the outlet at the time. An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight that Murphy and Fuqua were spotted “relaxed, happy… they seem very friendly and at ease with one another.”
