Not long after Nicki Minaj dropped a major bomb on Twitter about deciding to retire, the rapper is now apologizing for posting the Tweet in the first place.
Does this mean fans can rest easy knowing Minaj won’t actually be quitting the game? Not quite. The self-proclaimed rap queen says her retirement should’ve been discussed on her Queen Radio show.
On Friday the Grammy-nominated rapper Tweeted an announcement that sent fans into a frantic frenzy.”I’ve decided to retire & have my family,” Minaj wrote in a Tweet. “I know you guys are happy now.”
“To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me,” she wrote as a not to her rap bit in the remix of Alicia Keys’ Girl on Fire. “[sic: X] in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.” leaving fans struggling to wrap their head around the big announcement, Minaj deleted the Tweet.
Now, Minaj has posted a follow-up Tweet in response to a fan begging for her to explain her decision to retire.
“I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe ♥️🙏”
The Tweets have prompted fans to believe that she may actually be retiring along with speculations that she has already married her fiance Kenneth Petty and they might be having a baby underway.
