Kit Harington’s reps deny that the actor was checked into rehab

According to TMZ, the British actor’s representatives said he “has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues.” His reps put emphasis on the words “wellness retreat” dismissing reports that the actor checked himself into “rehab”.

Kit Harington was reportedly seen entering, Privé Swiss, a luxury treatment facility in Connecticut for mental health. This was weeks before the series finale of HBO show Game of Thrones. The NY Post was the first to report the actor’s “rehab stay”.

Harington played the role of the always broody Jon Snow in the hit HBO TV series, Game of Thrones. Apparently, he’s just as down on the dumps as his character as he checked himself into private mental health treatment for stress management and alcohol. Speculations have been raised that the actor was hit hard by the show’s ending since this was weeks prior to the final episode of Game of Thrones being aired on May 19.

According to Page Six, the British actor has been in Prive Swiss for nearly a month. Harington is reportedly paying over $120,000/month to undergo psychological coaching, meditation, and cognitive behavioral therapy to manage stress and negative emotions.

When Game of Thrones wrapped its long-awaited 8th and final season earlier in May, it left a void the hearts of fans all over the world. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss received flack for the final season’s writing.

There’s no word as of yet on when Harington will end his stay in the luxury treatment facility.
