Kate Upton slams Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: “it’s a snoozefest”

Kate Upton is not holding back from sharing her thoughts about the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, following the show’s cancellation.

The model and new mom appeared as a guest on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last Sunday night. Upton had a straightforward answer to a caller who asked about her reaction to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show being canceled for this year. And Upton wasn’t about to shy away from what she really thinks of the annual show.

“You know what? We’re sick of seeing the same body type,” Upton said frankly. “You have to be body inclusive now. Every woman needs to be represented, otherwise, it’s a snoozefest.”

Upton’s remarks gained an audible cheer from the audience.

The 27-year-old model has had beef with the lingerie brand dating all the way back to 2012. At the time Sophia Neophitou, credited as the brains behind VSFS, made some pretty harsh comments about Upton when she spoke to the New York Times. She described Upton as “like a footballer’s wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy.”

After that, Victoria’s Secret made the hypocritical move to feature a 2011 photo of Upton for a 2013 catalog. The photos were shot when the model was under a contract with the brand and multiple outlets reported that Upton was not happy with it.
It was confirmed last month that the 2019 VSFS won’t be pushing through. Victoria’s Secret angel Shanina Shaik broke the news to The Daily Telegraph.
