John Krasinski signs three-year pact with Amazon Studios

Actor, screenwriter, director, and producer John Krasinski signs onto Amazon studios with a three-year first-look TV deal.

Krasinski currently stars and executive produces the show Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan with Amazon Studios behind the series. In the three-year contract he signed, Amazon Prime will be working with his Sunday Night production banner to produce shows that will premiere on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon’s streaming service currently operates in more than 200 global countries and locations.

Notably involved in the pact are Krasinki’s production partner Allyson Seeger and Sunday Night’s development executive Alexa Ginsburg.

Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke said about the deal in a statement:

“With his incredible authenticity and versatility, John Krasinski has brought to life some of entertainment’s most recognizable roles, including our own hero Jack Ryan.”

“John’s talents extend behind the screen as a prolific writer, director and producer with a keen eye for creating original characters and stories with global appeal. We welcome John, Allyson, Alexa and the rest of the Sunday Night team to the family and can’t wait to see what they bring to our Amazon Prime Video customers all over the world,” Salke continued.

Krasinski and Seeger also released a statement about the partnership. “Everyone at Sunday Night is very excited to continue our partnership with Amazon Studios,” said the two producers. “Jen has been a friend and collaborator since back in my ‘Office’ days and her vision and expectation for what she wants Amazon Studios to become is exactly where we want to be,” added Krasinski.
