Jada Pinkett Smith reveals that she has finally found the true meaning of happiness.
The 47-year-old actress opened up about her literal pursuit of happiness in a recent interview. Pinkett Smith appeared in The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last Tuesday to promote her new upcoming film The Angel Has Fallen.

Speaking to Colbert, the Red Table Talk host explains how she initially had the wrong idea about achieving happiness. “I really thought happiness had a lot to do with pleasure,” she says. Pinkett Smith then added that she soon realized happiness is actually brought by peace saying, “I am the most peaceful I’ve ever been in my life, so I am the happiest.”

In the same interview, Pinkett Smith also went into the relevance of her 2-part Red Table Talk discussion with her husband, Will Smith. She says that she and Will wanted to defy the misconception that celebrities like them are in perfect relationships. She says, “We were kind of sick of living up to that,” referring to their image as a couple.

The star added that her husband’s willingness to participate in the discussion contributed to the audience’s understanding. Pinkett Smith says “many other successful men called” to say that they have made the similar realizations that Will reflected on about his shortcomings in his relationship and family.

She previously sang praises for Will, who she’s been married to for over two decades, on This Morning. “That’s one of the blessings of having someone who is full of so much fun and laughter. He keeps high spirits all the time,” she says.
