Sure, the streaming wars between Netflix, Disney+, Amazon and the other streaming providers have been heated as of late with Disney+ upping the ante. But that doesn’t mean Netflix is falling off in terms of quality content. Again, Netflix has been losing and will lose a good number of content from its library but at the same time, have acquired (and will acquire) films and shows that will replace the ones lost. Here are some of the best films on Netflix you should definitely check out if you haven’t yet.

 

The Irishman

Scorsese, De Niro, Pacino, Pesci. What more can you ask for, right? Being one of the best films of the year, possibly the decade, Frank Sheeran, a truck driver gets in with the Pennsylvania mob run by Russel Bufalino. Sheeran becomes one of the mob’s top hitmen and goes to work for Jimmy Hoffa as well.

 

Sully

Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger tries to execute an emergency landing in the Hudson River in New York in January of 2009 after a US Airways flight accidentally hits a flock of geese. All of the crew members and passengers survive and Sully was made into a national hero. His fame is short-lived when an investigation looking into certain events threaten his reputation.

 

Reservoir Dogs

Six random criminals using fake names are put together unknowingly to carry out a crime. Their heist hits a major roadblock when the police ambush them, forcing the Frankenstein of a group to shoot and kill their way out of their predicament. At their rendezvous point, they come to the realization that it was a setup and that they needed to find the mole within their group.

 

Blade Runner 2049

One of the newest blade runners named Officer K discovers a long-forgotten secret that has the capacity to bring society down into madness. This revelation prompts him to go on a journey to try and locate a missing blade runner named Rick Deckard who has been lost for 30 years.
