Heidi Klum doesn’t like that she was called “a white woman” after facing backlash for defending America’s Got Talent after allegations of discrimination.

The supermodel spoke about the issue in an interview with Page Six when she attended the amfAR gala on Wednesday. “A lot of people got mad at me. I was called, for example, ‘a white woman.”

“I think it is important for everyone to speak their truth. I think that when there is a story, it should be told. I had a different story. … I can only speak to what I saw — it has nothing to do with what color I am. I am a human so I just looked at what I saw.”

Last month, the Klum spoke up about her personal experience on the talent competition series saying that he “only had an amazing experience.” She also pointed out that she couldn’t speak on behalf of Gabrielle Union who seemingly had a completely different experience after calling out the show for alleged acts discrimination.

“To me, everyone treats you with the utmost respect. I’ve never seen anything that was weird or hurtful,” she added.

Union was reportedly fired as a judge from America’s Got Talent in November. After the television personality had lost her place on the show, reports emerged that she urged the show’s staff to speak up about racist comments made on set. Union also claimed that the staff complained about her hairstyles being “too black” for television. The actress also had a high profile feud with her former co-judge and the show’s executive producer Simon Cowell.
