Cara Delevingne has gone from keeping her relationship with Ashley Benson a secret to wearing her heart on her sleeve.

The model and actress graced the cover of Elle UK’s October edition where she spoke openly about her “incredible” romance with the Pretty Little Liars star. Delevingne finally went public about their love affair as she celebrated pride month last June. The pair have been dating exclusively for over a year.

“I’m just better when I’m in love,” the Carnival Row star gushed when asked how love feels. “That doesn’t have to mean with someone. It can also mean with myself.”

“It just feels incredible when you’re not alone,” the 27-year-old added. “When you’re facing the world with someone else.”

Delevingne also went into detail behind the reason why she kept her relationship with Benson low-key as rumors swirled months prior to confirming it. The British actress cites the hesitation behind going public saying “Because it’s sacred.”

However, she acknowledges that being a celebrity means the public is generally interested in her love life. But she explains that she kept things below the radar not because she’s “ashamed of anything.”

“But I’ve never been in a relationship where things are so public, or where I posted pictures of someone else. This seemed different.”

“We had gotten to the point where we had kept it a secret, or at least not wanted attention, and now I feel like I’m not going to not be proud,” Delevingne added. The model gave a sweet shoutout to Benson during her acceptance speech at the LIVE Gala last June.
