22-year-old actress Camila Morrone is sharing what it’s like to date Hollywood’s biggest movie star — and it isn’t all rose petals and romantic vacations.

While Morrone has managed to make a name for herself in acting — and before that, modeling — the young star was catapulted into the spotlight when she started dating A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio. She admitted that the public’s reception to her relationship and their 23-year-age gap has its downsides.

“More exposure leads to more judgment and negativity,” the young actress told WSJ magazine. “It’s a little bit of a bummer because you’re really trying to do good work and be nice and be a good person, and in the meantime…people wish negative things upon you.”

Morrone and DiCaprio have received backlash for their age gap and devoted fans can sometimes be harsh to the people their idols are dating. But the actress isn’t letting the hurtful remarks from getting to her head.

Despite the backlash, Morrone told the outlet that she is able to keep the comments from getting to her head.“It would never take away the joy of the craft that I get to do,” she said.

Morrone and DiCaprio were first linked when they were spotted in an Aspen snow trip back in January 2018. Since then, the two have been seen in various vacation spots around the world.

“There’s so many relationships in Hollywood — and in the history of the world — where people have large age gaps,” Morrone told the Los Angeles Times in a separate interview. “I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date.”
