Some men aren’t comfortable sharing that their wives rakes in more cash then they do. But Hollywood and theatre actor Bobby Cannavale isn’t one of them. In fact, he’s quite proud of the fact that his wife, actress Rose Byrne, actually makes twice as much as he does.
The 49-year-old shared with Vanity Fair that 40-year-old Byrne brings in the money in their marriage.
“I make half as much as she does. Down the middle. Half,” he says. The married couple shares two children 3-year-old Rocco and 2-year-old Rafa. As for what might be the reason behind their significant pay disparity, Cannavale contemplates, “I work too much in the theatre, perhaps.”
Byrne and Cannavale have been together for seven years. And throughout their relationship, the pair have had a handful of opportunities to work together in the same projects notably, Annie, Spy and Adult Beginners. Next year, two more projects are lined up for the pair which will see them star in theatre productions Medea and A View From the Bridge.
Indeed, the couple seems to be taking on more and more projects together. According to Cannavale, there’s a good reason behind this. The actor explains, “It starts out as a very pragmatic thing. You Have the ids the kids are getting bigger, and you don’t want to spend the time apart.”
It’s unusual for married couples to get opportunities to work together which is something that Byrne has previously expressed as a fortunate thing for them. The pair are known for living a very low-profile life.
