2019 is shaping up to be an amazing year for the small screen. Indeed, with many amazing and incredible shows returning, it’s hard not to get excited about the year ahead. Television dramas are gaining serious traction amongst audiences. Viewers want to see and experience things that feel real and authentic. While some of these shows might not be suited for family time, they’re great for those lazy Sunday afternoons.

Game of Thrones – Season 8

This will be the end of the end. “Game of Thrones” has been a staple of HBO since it premiered back in 2011. After eight long seasons, the world finally has to say goodbye to Westeros, at least for a while.

Mindhunter – Season 2

A product of David Fincher, “Mindhunter” will return for a second season in 2019. Set during the 1970s, the series follows FBI agent Holden Ford, as he seeks to comprehend the mind of serial killers. After the first season received rave reviews, this one is surely not going to disappoint.

Big Little Lies – Season 2

The first season of “Big Little Lies” cleaned up at awards shows and gained a pretty strong following. Naturally, a second season has been commissioned and fans can look forward to another entry in 2019.

Taboo – Season 2

Starring English actor, Tom Hardy, “Taboo” developed a rather strong following when it premiered. Hardy’s charismatic performance as Delaney, coupled with the film’s dark aesthetic reinforced this. Thankfully for fans, it should be returning to the small screen sometime in 2019.

Peaky Blinders – Season 5

With their sharp haircuts and thick accents, the “Peaky Blinders” have become incredibly popular among viewers. Similar to “Taboo” in terms of style and direction, fans better make sure they are ready for another violent season in 2019.

The Crown – Season 3

The old cast of “The Crown” were farewelled at the end of Season 2, with a new cast being formed to create the next chapter of Queen Elizabeth’s life. Prepare to binge watch this addictive show when it’s released on Netflix!
