The proprietors, Christopher Pearce and Janet Grecian, have a long history in bookselling. Christopherās father, Cedric Pearce was one of Hobartās best known booksellers from the 1940s to the early 1980s. Christopher began his bookselling career in the early 1970s, ran the University Bookshop in Port Moresby (PNG) during the 1980s, and opened the Hobart Bookshop in 1990.
