Gold Bar
Gold Bar is an exceptional speakeasy hidden in an old flour mill on Hobart’s waterfront, this inviting little bar is like finding gold. Gold Bar serves up Tasmania’s best and brightest spirits, shakes up made-to-order cocktails, and creates a wonderfully-personal experience in intimate and comfortable surrounds. They also have an exciting selection of local beers and wines and gins and whiskies from the mainland.
If you enjoy gin whisky, or any local spirit, then Gold Bar has a plush red seat for you. The collection is extensive, with a bottle from every Tasmanian distillery gracing the shelf and a rotating collection of some of the best interstate offerings.
Gold Bar also serves quality coffee and comfort food during weekdays, and bottle sales are available from the bar. You’ll find them up the old bricklaid carriage way, through the double doors at its end and across the courtyard towards the red and golden glow.

Bar Wa Izakaya
Bar Wa Izakaya is as much a bar as it is a place to eat. With two bars and comfy lounges, a deck outside with a wood heater and al fresco tables out the front, it’s a great spot for a drink or two, in all seasons. They have a fully stocked bar to cater for all tastes, with a strong focus on Japanese beverages.
They have a massive range of Japanese beers. They stock the likes of Asahi and Kirin, along with Japanese craft breweries like Baird Brewery, Yoho Brewery and Kuruizawa. There’s also a full range of beers that feature IPA, amber, brown, porter, wheat, pale ale and lagers. Sakes are something they are known for, with something to suit all tastes. And if you are interested in trying sake for the first time, they have a sake tasting plate that’s sure to tickle your palate.
The Japanese are well known for their whiskies and they deliver, with a collection of over twenty – that grows in size every week! It features whiskies from distilleries like Yamazaki, Chita, Hakashu, Nikka. and more. They also have a great range of umeshu and shochu. Cocktails are also an important part of Bar Wa service, with a cocktail list that features many favourites and some fabulous Japanese inspired cocktails.

IXL Long Bar
IXL Long Bar is an inviting in-house bar, dressed in heritage architecture and home to some of Hobart’s finest cocktail masters. The petite space radiates style and warmth. Just add some live jazz tunes. The Long Bar serves up specialty cocktails, prizewinning spirits and liqueurs, craft beers and ciders as well as fine wines.
