A ‘Stranger Things’ mobile game is coming in 2020

We’ve got exciting news for avid fans of the horror sci-fi series. During the 2019 E3 Coliseum last Wednesday, Netflix revealed an upcoming Stranger Things digital game.

While we’ve heard about “Stranger Things 3: The Game” that will be available to play for multiple platforms, a new project was separately announced.

The upcoming mobile game will be launched on iOS and Android devices. While the exact launch date is kept under wraps, Netflix teased that it will be released sometime in 2020. The project is set to be a role-playing game (RPG) that’s location-based allowing players to explore The Upside Down.

During the E3 Coliseum talk, the game was described as a hybrid between puzzle and RPG so expect it to be a brain-teaser. The game will be designed as with Saturday morning cartoon animation developed and published by NextGames.

The game is launching to give fans a chance to experience the series differently. We can expect that more projects designed with interactive content will arrive soon enough. Netflix is bringing characters and other elements from its originals to existing games this year. The streaming giant’s partner game developers include Roblox, Ubisoft, and Behaviour Interactive.

Stranger Things is an American web television series from Netflix. It’s set in the 1980s starring prominent 90’s actress Wynona Ryder and fresh faces Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard. It is under the horror, sci-fi, occult and historical period genres. With the third season set to air on the 4th of July, it looks like fans have a lot to be excited about.
