A documentary about late rapper Mac Miller is in the works

Filmmaker CJ Wallis is currently in the development stage of a documentary honoring the late Mac Miller.

Miller was a celebrated rapper and recording artist before his untimely passing back on September 7, 2017. The rapper died of a fentanyl and cocaine overdose in his Los Angeles home. His death was ruled as an accident by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Prior to his death, he dated pop music icon, Ariana Grande. The pair even made music together including The Way and Cold.

The rapper has made significant contributions in hip-hop despite his unconventional image. Now, Wallis is made an announcement posted on Twitter about the upcoming documentary on the rapper.

In the post, Wallis wrote:
“So, over the next year I’m going to start collecting interviews & content to make the definitive @MacMiller documentary for his family, friends & fans… Please share & tag anyone you think we need to speak with!”

Fans of Miller have expressed their appreciation for the documentary saying “Please, we need this.” and “thank you for this ❤️”

Wallis is a Canadian director who worked on several rap music videos. He is known for collaborating with the biggest names in the hip-hop industry including Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and Cornerboy P.

His own production company, Margrette Bird Pictures has begun pre-production for the documentary. Fans around the world are hoping that the upcoming feature will give justice and to Miller’s contributions in the music industry.
