The director of Atomic Blonde, David Leitch, has expressed the possibility of Atomic Bland 2 as he believes it is still being discussed and might be made by a streaming service.
The 2017 film starred Charlize Theron as Lorraine Broughton. In the movie, we see Theron as a lethal spy on a mission to recover a list of double agents in Berlin. The spy-thriller set in the Cold War was a film adaptation based on Antony Johnstonās graphic novel The Coldest City. Starring alongside Theron in the film is James McAvoy. Atomic Blonde easily became one of the best movies in 2017 with its action-packed sequences and outstanding visuals.
Since its release, interest in a sequel existed from the get-go. Leitch, in particular, was pretty excited about the chance to make a sequel as he expressed his hopes even before the films theatrical debut. In 2018 the filmās star, Theron, confirmed that Atomic Blonde 2 was in the works when she appeared at the San Francisco International Film Festival. The South-African actress didnāt give away other details about the highly-anticipated sequel.
āI think there is [still talk of a sequel]. I donāt know all the details. I was a work-for-hire on that movie, but at the end of the day, Kelly McCormick ā my producing partner and my wife ā she will be involved, Iām sure, as a producer. Thatās how I got the gig in the first place. Weāll see,ā Leitch said about the potential sequel.
The director didnāt specify which streaming platform will be behind Atomic Blonde 2 as his comments are pretty non-committal.
