Don’t you dare try asking Jessie J questions about her relationship with Channing Tatum because the singer is not having it.

The “Bang Bang” hitmaker was on This Morning for an interview to promote The Voice Kids. But when host Ben Shephard Magic Mike Live, a show based on Tatum’s film Magic Mike, the singer quickly shut him down.

“You obviously got to see it with Mike himself,” Shephard said, to which Jessie replied, “I did.”

“That’s a performance that seems to be quite…” he continued before Jessie interrupted him as she had no interest in discussing her relationship with Tatum.

Jessie J obviously just wanted to discuss her role on The Voice Kids instead of her love life when she answered: “The opposite of The Voice Kids, I think let’s stay focused on The Voice Kids.” Shepard’s co-host is heard saying “Aww” to Jessie’s response while he tried to save face as they continued to discuss the Las Vegas-based show.

“There’s some very distinct ways of performing, and that’s a very different one,” Shephard said to the British singer-songwriter, who quickly diverted the conversation back to the singing competition series.

“Yeah, I mean The Voice Kids is insane, and I have loved every second of doing it, and I am so excited for the finale tomorrow,” Jessie said to conclude the interview.

Let’s hope Shepard learns his lesson from that awkward experience. When an artist comes to your show to talk about their work, don’t even try to squeeze in questions about their personal life. Yikes!
