The hearts of fans are breaking everywhere as it looks like there’s no turning back from Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ separation. The former has officially filed for a divorce from the latter after just seventh months of marriage

The actor finally decided to pull the plug on his marriage following reports of Cyrus and Kaitlyn Carter’s rendezvous in Italy. According to celebrity news outlet TMZ, Hemsworth filed for divorce in a Los Angeles court citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split.

The outlet reports that Hemsworth and Cyrus signed a prenup prior to their marriage to keep their earnings separate during their brief marriage. Because of this, finalizing their divorce won’t be difficult.

On August 10, the couple announced their split and sources of the outlet say that Hemsworth is “over the marriage” and just wants to move forward with his life. He has recently been seen reuniting with friends and family in Australia during this difficult time.

A source tells Entertainment Tonight:

“Liam’s decision to file for divorce is sad, but in the end, it was never going to work. They are too different. Liam never wanted to share Miley with anyone. He loves her and he is far too traditional. He finally realized he just wants to start fresh.”

The source adds that the Hemsworth family has been supporting Liam’s decision saying they are “relieved it’s over.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. After meeting and eventually falling in love on the 2010 film The Last Song, the pair dated on and off again for almost a decade before getting hitched in 2018.
