Tom Hanks and Tim Allen brings Toy Story 4 magic to a children’s hospital

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen brought the magic of Toy Story 4 to patients of AdventHealth Children’s Hospital in Orlando, Florida over the weekend.

The co-stars were all about spreading joy for Entertainment Tonight’s Good Works segment. Hanks and Allen were happy to work together outside the VO booth to meet and greet the children in AdventHealth. The actors handed out toys, books and played games with the kids and their families.

However, it seems like meeting the voice actors behind Hanks’ Woody and Allen’s Buzz Lightyear wasn’t so much of a highlight for the kids. Allen quipped about the experience on Entertainment Tonight:

“I’ve done this before, and I get really spooked because the younger boys especially like Buzz Lightyear and they see me and it’s like, ‘Why’s this ugly man talking like Buzz Lightyear?’ and it kind of makes them angry, so I’m likely getting a syringe thrown at me,”

“I don’t know that they actually put in the u-g-l-y word!” Hanks jumped in on the story. “Are you spelling ugly?” Allen asked chuckling. “Well, I don’t want to say it!” Hanks admitted.

The back and forth banter between the two actors come naturally. There’s no wonder why they’re so compatible with each other as they play their iconic Toy Story roles.

The pair’s hospital visit was a part of the Disney Team of Heroes initiative. The program supplies gifts to more than 445 children’s hospitals in the U.S.

“The fact that we’re asked is amazing that they even trust that we should do this,” Allen said. “Let’s bring the playground to them,” Hanks added. Toy Story 4’s theatrical release is on June 21.
