Scott Disick gets real on fatherhood: “I did not know how to be a dad”

Scott Disick has been a father for almost a decade but the reality star admits that he never saw himself as father material before life blessed him with his kids. Now, the father of three says he couldn’t see life without his kids.

Disick expressed his reflections on fatherhood in a casual chat with ex Kourtney Kardashian, the mother of his three children. The two discussed how he has changed his perspective on fatherhood over the years and learning to embrace being a dad.

“I never thought I would have kids at such an early age, but I did and it’s been a real blessing ’cause I get to be the cool dad now,” says Disick. The reality star was only 26 when the ex-couple’s firstborn Mason Dash, was brought into the world back in December 2009.

“It was really, really, really difficult at first. I did not know how to be a dad, how to take care of kids and how to be there for them,” the father of three admitted. However, Disick believes that despite his doubts that he’ll ever be a good father, he concludes, “I feel pretty confident that I’m able to now, and it’s great.”

Disick also admits his own insecurities stemming from vanity saying that he was worried that people would perceive him as “not cool or young anymore” after becoming a dad to Mason. After Mason was born, his daughter Penelope Scotland followed and so did his youngest son Reign Aston. “Now, I couldn’t be happier,” he says.
